The family of late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman has become embroiled in a legal dispute over the administration of his multimillion-dollar estate, nearly six years after the actor's death.
Boseman's brothers, Kevin and Derrick, have filed a petition in a Los Angeles court seeking to remove his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, as administrator of the estate. They allege that she has failed to properly distribute estate assets despite a 2022 court order and has not fully accounted for royalties, residual payments, intellectual property rights and other assets.
According to court filings, Boseman died without leaving a will in 2020, resulting in his widow inheriting 50 percent of the estate, while his parents were awarded 25 percent each. The brothers claim their parents have yet to receive all the assets they are entitled to and are asking the court to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the estate.
As of now, Ledward has not publicly responded to the latest allegations in court. The case remains before the Los Angeles court.
