Donald Trump has been handed a rather unusual “fuel-price solution” — courtesy of the Iran Embassy in Zimbabwe. The embassy took aim at the US president with a mocking image showing a tiny wooden twig laid across a car’s fuel gauge, suggesting that Trump had somehow “fixed” the world’s fuel-price problem. The joke was aimed at rising fuel prices and Trump’s claims surrounding the global energy situation, turning a serious geopolitical issue into a meme-worthy moment. The embassy captioned the post with a sarcastic thank-you to Trump, effectively suggesting that the president’s big solution amounted to little more than moving the needle on a dashboard. And yes, the internet has apparently entered the era where international diplomacy comes with meme templates. The Zimbabwe-based Iranian mission has become particularly active in trolling Trump online, regularly using sarcastic posts, edited images and pop-culture references to take shots at the US president. Earlier, the embassy posted another jab declaring, “Trump, please talk. We are bored,” while other Iranian diplomatic missions have joined the social-media mockery. The fuel-price post fits neatly into that growing meme war, with Iran’s diplomatic accounts turning Trump’s statements and the fallout from the US-Iran confrontation into social-media ammunition. So while politicians argue over oil, fuel and geopolitics, Iran’s embassy in Zimbabwe appears to have found its own answer: grab a twig, place it on the gauge and call it a solution. Trump may have wanted to control the narrative — but according to the embassy, the internet has already taken the wheel.
