A routine flight lesson in Argentina ended in tragedy after a flight instructor allegedly jumped from a training aircraft mid-flight, leaving his 22-year-old student to land the plane by herself.

The instructor, Leandro Andrés Bertazzo, 42, was conducting a lesson near Toledo, Córdoba Province, when he reportedly told the student, "You know what you have to do, carry on," before unbuckling his seatbelt and exiting the Cessna 150G aircraft. He was later found dead in a nearby field. Authorities are investigating the incident as an apparent suicide.

Despite the traumatic ordeal, the student pilot remained composed, contacted the flight school and safely landed the aircraft at Coronel Olmedo Airport without injuries or damage to the plane.

The director of the flight school, Eduardo Álvarez, described the incident as "impossible to understand," while Argentina's Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bertazzo's death. Reports indicate the instructor had recently experienced personal and mental health struggles, although colleagues said there had been no obvious warning signs before the flight.
