Zambian Musician “Yo Maps” Arrested in Namibia :- To Appear in Court on Tuesday

Namibian authorities have detained Zambian musician Elton Mulenga, popularly known as “Yo Maps,” on immigration-related charges. Mulenga is accused of performing in Namibia while claiming to be there for personal reasons. He is expected to appear in court soon.

In a related incident, 94 Zambians were deported from Namibia and Zimbabwe over the past three days for illegal entry and unlawful activities. Among those deported, many were working as cattle herders and maids. Namibian immigration spokesperson Namati Nshinka reported that 86 individuals, including 59 men and 27 women, were removed from Namibia’s Katima Mulilo Town between July 10th and July 12th. Some deportees alleged that their employers reported them to avoid paying wages. Additionally, eight Zambians were deported from Zimbabwe on July 11th for illegal fishing and straying into Zimbabwean waters.

The immigration department has expressed growing concern over the increasing number of Zambians being deported and urges citizens to follow legal migration channels and acquire the necessary travel documents to avoid arrest and deportation.
