Manchester United have lifted the FA Cup silverware after beating Manchester City 2 goals to one in a thrilling finals match at Wembley Stadium.
The Red Devils win has denied their rivals a chance to secure a fourth trophy which they were hopeful to achieve after winning the FIFA Club World Cup, English Premier League and the Super Cup.
Manchester United gave Manchester City tough time in the first half of the game which saw them leading with goals from Alejandro Garnacho in the 30th minute followed by a goal from Kobbie Mainoo in the 39th minute.
Prior to K. Mainoo’s Goal, Manchester United scored another goal but it was ruled out after Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Check. In the second half Manchester United were playing defense and they did not score any more goals whilst their rivals were trying to level the game, attacking the Red Devils with all their might and it started to pay off at the 87th minute which saw Manchester City scoring a goal through Jeremy Doku but this wasn’t enough to level up the game.
Manchester United fans are in tremendous and extravagant joy upon their team which ended in 8th position in the Premier League, for lifting the FA Cup as it has been 20 years since they won the domestic cup in 2004 whereby they beat Millwall 3 goals to nil at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.
It’s the 13th time that Manchester United has won the FA Cup in the tournament’s 143-year existence, second only to 14-time champion Arsenal. The victory also earned Manchester United a spot in the 2024-24 UEFA Europa League, Europe’s second-tier club competition.
