Folorunso Alakija, Africa’s richest woman reveals that she received over 10,000 marriage proposals within 24 hours after she the news of her separation with her husband.
The Nigerian’s billionaire business-woman, Folorunso Alakija and her husband, Modupe Alakija have been reportedly separated. According to reports by The Will, the two who had been married for 30 years encountered significant challenges that left them with no option but to opt for a divorce despite being parents to four children.
Reportedly, the couple has been experiencing frequent conflicts which prompted Folorunsho to request privacy within her residence, a decision that compelled her husband to seek alternative accommodation nearby.
Folorunso Alakija is a Vice chair of Famfa Oil, a Nigerian oil exploration company which is in partnership with Chevron and Petrobas and has a stake in Agbami Oilfield, a prolific offshore asset. In addition, Alakikija’s first company was a fashion label whose customers included the wife of former Nigerian president Ibrahim Babangida. Furthermore, she was listed on forbes list as number 20 among africa’s billionaires in 2020 but dropped off in 2021.
