Emmie Deebo Becomes Malawi’s Brand Ambassador for U.S.-Based FUNetix Free Literacy Program

Sandton, South Africa – April 2025

Malawi’s creative powerhouse, Emmie Deebo, has signed a groundbreaking deal as the official Malawi Brand Ambassador for FUNetix Free Literacy, a globally recognized education platform under the American Literacy Foundation, headquartered in the United States.

The signing took place in Sandton, South Africa, in the presence of Mr. Aubrey Jones, FUNetix Southern African Regional Coordinator, alongside Plug Avenue South Africa, custodians of the agreement, and Akometsi, Emmie’s official representatives from Malawi.

With this one-year ambassadorship, Emmie joins a dynamic pan-African movement focused on literacy and education, alongside fellow ambassadors such as @babyface_womdantso, @sphockyrsa, and @bhuti.omdala (The WavLeague) representing South Africa.

“This is more than a title for me,” Emmie said in her announcement. “It’s a platform to uplift young Malawians who are struggling with basic education, and I’m excited to play my part in making literacy accessible.”

As part of her role, Emmie will participate in a tour and roll out initiatives that span across Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, and other African nations, promoting early literacy using the FUNetix digital learning system.

The initiative, spearheaded by Mr. R Kali Woodward, President of the American Literacy Foundation, is designed to provide free, accessible, and fun literacy tools for children—especially those in underserved communities.

This partnership marks a powerful convergence of creativity, education, and international collaboration, with Emmie Deebo at the forefront representing Malawi on the global stage.

Congratulations to Emmie on this milestone—proof that Malawian voices are making waves beyond borders.
