Hold on to your tickets, Malawians! In a bold move that has the whole entertainment industry talking, superstar Dr. Namadingo has announced he won’t be gracing the stage at an event scheduled for November 17th—and it’s all about the money!
The “Mapulani” hitmaker took to social media with a no-nonsense post that quickly went viral, making it clear he’s not accepting anything less than what he’s worth.
“If I charge you 10 Million and you only have 6 Million, don’t put me on your poster. It’s Ten, not Six. Ine sindibwelako kumeneko. Osamazolowela,” Dr. Namadingo wrote, reminding event organizers that his price tag isn’t up for negotiation.
Apparently, the organizers were hoping to snag the legend for 6 million kwacha. But Namadingo isn’t having it, and he made sure everyone knows that shortchanging him isn’t an option. His fans are loving the bold statement, flooding the comments with support, while some organizers may now be sweating a bit under the collar!
It’s no secret that Namadingo has been on fire, and charging a cool 10 million kwacha per gig shows just how far he’s come. But can we blame him? A national icon deserves nothing less than the best, and Namadingo is here to set the record straight—there’s no discounting star power!
Fans, however, are a bit divided. Some are disappointed they won’t get to see him perform at the event, while others are praising him for standing up for what he’s worth.
As for the event organizers? Well, let’s just say they’ve learned the hard way—don’t advertise an artist unless you’re ready to pay up. Osamazolowela indeed!
