CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: ARSENAL CRASH WITH ATALANTA

As Arsenal prepares to crash with Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, two players are set to be the center of attraction.

To begin with, Ademola Lookman will be the center of attraction when Atalanta host Arsenal in a UEFA Champions League clash at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo on today.

Lookman was the star of Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League final win against Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen last season.

The 26-year-old scored a remarkable hat-trick in that encounter. The Nigeria international made a huge impact on his first Serie A start against Fiorentina on Sunday.

The former Leicester City star registered one goal and one assist in the encounter to help La Dea put an end to their two-game winless streak.

Lookman has scored one goal in the Champions League during his time with German club, RB Leipzig.

Another solid showing against the Gunners will enhance his status as the top contender for the African Player of the Year award.

On the gunners side, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, has hailed ‘talented’ player, Ethan Nwaneri, a Nigerian of Igbo descent who was born in London ahead of the Gunners’ Champions League tie with Atalanta.

Jorginho said the 17-year-old is ‘improving every day’, adding that he can dribble and break lines.

Nwaneri is part of the Arsenal squad that travelled to Italy for their Champions League opener against Atalanta on Thursday night.

“He’s growing a lot and he’s improving every single day,” Jorginho said in his pre-match interview ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Atalanta.

“He’s a talented player with good skills, he can dribble, he can break lines, he can find the goal and find the pass.

“So I think he can have a good future in front of him if he stays the way he has been in training and trying to improve every day.”
