The premier league underdogs, Aston Villa have surprisingly made it to the UEFA Champions League after thrashing Club Brugge with 6 goals to 1 on aggregate. Aston Villa’s qualification into the round of 8 keeps the hope of the premier league teams which only remains 2 in the competition; Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Set to play against Paris Saint Germain who knocked out Liverpool on penalties, Aston Villa’s boss, Unai Emery expressed his eagerness and keen to win past PSG and head into the UCL finals. Speaking post the match against Club Brugge, Unai Emery said that he is excited to play in the quarterfinals but he wants more.
“For our club, it is very important to be in the Champions League quarterfinal, to play against Paris Saint-Germain is something we have to be proud of,” said Emery.
“To play against PSG is very difficult. They showed their capacity playing against Liverpool, the best team in the Premier League, the best team in Europe until yesterday.” said Emery
However, PSG which sits on top of the Ligue 1 table with a difference of 16 points against the second runner up, are a formidable team with vast experience in the UCL and it shall not be a smooth game for Aston Villa as sports analysts predicts that PSG shall win against Aston Villa in both legs of the quarterfinal matches.
