Israel has reportedly shared fresh intelligence with the United States about an alleged new Iranian plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, raising fresh concerns over security amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The report, published on Thursday, said the intelligence points to a new and specific assassination plan allegedly linked to Iran. The purported plot is believed to be part of Tehran's long-standing vow to retaliate for the January 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.

According to the report, U.S. officials had not previously been tracking the alleged plan before receiving the Israeli intelligence. However, no details about the nature of the purported plot or its stage of development have been made public.

When asked to comment, the White House declined to discuss the intelligence directly, instead referring reporters to remarks Trump made on Wednesday during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. During those remarks, Trump acknowledged that Iran has repeatedly threatened his life, saying he has been on Tehran's target list for years but has so far been fortunate.

Iran has consistently denied involvement in previous assassination allegations, although U.S. authorities have previously accused individuals linked to Iran of plotting attacks against Trump and other former American officials in retaliation for Soleimani's killing.

Neither the Israeli government nor Iran's mission to the United Nations immediately commented publicly on the latest report. The allegations come as tensions remain high following recent military confrontations involving the United States, Israel and Iran, despite efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire.
