The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, is reportedly investigating a massive security breach involving cryptocurrency transfers potentially worth billions of dollars.
Initial reports suggest that between $2 billion and $5.8 billion may have been moved from Binance-linked wallets to suspicious external addresses.
The incident has reportedly prompted stablecoin companies Tether and Circle to freeze more than $2.3 billion in assets suspected to be connected to the incident.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has acknowledged the reported security breach, while the exchange maintains that customer funds are protected.
