Mikozi Ten Pa Ten: 10 Winners to Share K13 Million Copyright Fund

Malawi’s creative spotlight, Mikozi Creative Studios has found its newest voices as the final list of winners in the Ten Over 10 project has officially been unveiled.

The initiative, presented by Mikozi Creative Studios, drew an overwhelming response, receiving over 3,000 music submissions from upcoming artists across the country—an indication of both the hunger and depth of talent within Malawi’s music industry.

From this massive pool, 20 standout acts were carefully selected by an internal review panel. These 20 were then paired into 10 competitive matchups, where the public played a decisive role.

Through audience voting, fans chose their favourite artists, ultimately shaping the final list of 10 winners—making the project not just a talent search, but a nationwide engagement with Malawi’s music future.

The winners—Barnie Micheal (Blantyre), Finix Yozimbu (Mponela), Feb Karma (Lilongwe), Naleji (Lilongwe), Memrah (Chitipa), Issabel King (Zomba), Nganie265 (Mzuzu), Motte Jezz (Mzuzu), Wapkid (Liwonde), and Oskanjo (Blantyre)—now step into the spotlight as the country’s rising stars.

Each artist is set to benefit from a career-boosting package that includes professional music production, branding, mentorship, and wider media exposure, positioning them for growth in a competitive industry.

Beyond the recognition, the initiative offers long-term value through mentorship and industry guidance, ensuring the artists are equipped with the skills needed to navigate and sustain their careers.

The project is  funded by The Copyright Fund who pumped in 13 million Kwacha and supported by key partners, including the Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA), and Power TV, whose backing underscores a growing commitment to developing and protecting Malawi’s creative sector.
