The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025: Double Winners Dominate Global Football

The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025, held in Doha, Qatar, celebrated the world’s top football performers after an outstanding 2024–25 season, with several stars achieving the rare feat of winning both FIFA and Ballon d’Or honours in the same category.

Ousmane Dembélé was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2025 after a career-defining season with Paris Saint-Germain, where he played a decisive role in their domestic and European triumphs, including a historic UEFA Champions League title. Earlier in the year, Dembélé also claimed the Men’s Ballon d’Or, confirming his status as the world’s best male footballer.

In women’s football, Aitana Bonmatí continued her dominance by winning The Best FIFA Women’s Player award for a third straight year. The Barcelona and Spain midfielder also secured the Women’s Ballon d’Or, completing another prestigious double and reinforcing her position as the leading figure in the women’s game.

Goalkeeping excellence was highlighted by Gianluigi Donnarumma, who won Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, and Hannah Hampton, named Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper. Both shot-stoppers also received top goalkeeper honours at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, underlining their consistency and impact throughout the season.

Coaching accolades went to Luis Enrique as Best FIFA Men’s Coach and Sarina Wiegman as Best FIFA Women’s Coach, with both tacticians also earning recognition at the Ballon d’Or awards for their exceptional leadership.

The 2025 awards season stood out for its rare consensus between football’s biggest honours, as FIFA and Ballon d’Or voters aligned in celebrating players and coaches whose performances clearly set them apart on the global stage.
