“Female Tourists Return to Nkhata Bay — ‘Malawian Men Are Too Sweet,’ They Say”
A group of female tourists has made headlines after returning to Malawi for the second time, claiming they simply couldn’t get over the hospitality and warmth they experienced during their first visit to Nkhata Bay a year ago.
The group, who describe Malawi as their “favorite summer destination,” said they were touched not only by the lake’s beauty but also by the friendliness of the locals — especially the men.
“Malawian men are just too sweet,” one of them laughed. “They’re respectful, kind, and they know how to treat a woman with care. That’s why we keep coming back!”
Interestingly, one of the women from the group has since married a Malawian man, describing him as “the best decision she ever made.”
Locals in Nkhata Bay, known for their calm and cheerful vibe, welcomed the story with excitement, saying it’s proof that Malawi truly lives up to its nickname — The Warm Heart of Africa.
Tourism experts have also noted the growing interest among foreign visitors who come to experience not only Lake Malawi’s beauty but also the warmth and hospitality of Malawians themselves.
