Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry has been hit with a massive $260 million lawsuit after being accused of sexual harassment and assault by a male actor who starred in his hit BET series The Oval.
Derek Dixon, who played Dale on the show, claims he was sexually harassed and assaulted by Perry over a period of two years, and that his acting role was used as leverage to pressure him into compliance.
⚠️ What Derek Dixon Is Claiming
In the lawsuit, Dixon alleges:
- He was invited to Perry’s home where unwanted sexual advances were made.
- Perry allegedly touched him inappropriately while he was asleep.
- He received sexually explicit messages, including threats about his character being killed off the show.
- In a separate incident, Perry allegedly pulled down Dixon’s underwear and groped him.
Dixon says he suffered emotional and physical stress, including PTSD and depression, which forced him to leave The Oval and lose out on future income.
💼 What He’s Demanding
Dixon is demanding:
- $260 million in damages
- Legal costs
- A jury trial
He also claims Perry’s company used promises of career growth and production deals as a way to manipulate him.
🛑 Tyler Perry’s Response
Tyler Perry has denied all accusations. His attorney has described the claims as “fabricated” and part of a scheme to extort the filmmaker.
They say Perry will defend himself fully in court and are confident the case will be dismissed.
