Today marks seven days since the passing of former President Edgar Lungu in South Africa. His body remains there, as tensions grow between his family and the government over funeral arrangements.
The family is reportedly questioning why the government did not provide sufficient support during his final days, yet is now quick to lead funeral preparations. This disagreement has delayed confirmation of when his body will return to Zambia, as well as the official burial date.
As the nation mourns, uncertainty surrounds how and when their former leader will be laid to rest.
