The body of former first lady, Madame Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri has depart yesterday, 13th June, from Sunset Funeral Home in Karonga for her home village where she will be buried with full military honor today at Senzani, Balaka.
Present at the ceremony yesterday was President Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady, Monica Chakwera, former president of Malawi, Dr. Bakili Muluzi and the former president of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Banda, her children Lucy and Zake Muluzi who were accompanied by Atupele Muluzi among other notable figures and government representatives.
The Mass burial ceremony of the former first lady shall commence at 11 a.m today after which the body shall be escorted to her final resting place.
It was her wish that the Vice President of Malawi, Dr Saulos Chilima should speak at her funeral, but unfortunately, the former first lady, Shanil Dzimbiri died alongside other eight people, including Vice-President on Monday in a plane accident.
